Animations are becoming more and more popular as a way to add life and personality to websites and apps. But can we create animations in Figma?
The short answer is yes, we can create animations in Figma. However, the tool is still in beta and there are some limitations to what we can do.
For example, we can’t currently create frame-by-frame animations or export our animations as gifs. But despite these limitations, Figma is still a powerful tool for creating simple animations.
To create an animation in Figma, we first need to create a frame. Frames are like layers in Photoshop or Sketch, they allow us to group elements together.
To create a frame, we simply click the “+” icon in the left toolbar and select “Frame” from the menu. We can then name our frame and add elements to it.
Once we have our frame created, we need to add an animation. To do this, we click on the “Animations” tab in the right sidebar and then click the “+” icon.
This will open up the animation panel where we can choose what type of animation we want to create. For this example, we’ll choose “Slide In from Left”.
Now that we have our animation created, we need to add it to our frame. To do this, we simply drag the animation from the “Animations” panel onto our frame. We can then preview our animation by clicking the play button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
