As businesses continue to grow on Fiverr, they’re increasingly turning to the site’s review section to get a leg up on their competition. But what happens when businesses can’t afford to pay for fake reviews?
The answer, unfortunately, may be that some businesses can get away with paying for fake reviews, as long as they’re careful not to get caught.
In theory, buying fake reviews is illegal in many jurisdictions. But in practice, many businesses are able to get away with it by using fake reviews as a way to improve their reputation and rankings on Fiverr.
Some businesses go so far as to create fake customer accounts and post positive reviews to improve their ranking. Others simply hire people to write fake reviews, and then pay them to keep their reviews hidden.
In either case, it’s important for businesses to be very careful not to get caught. If they’re caught, they could face legal action, and their reputation on Fiverr could be destroyed.
