Can You Add a Downloadable PDF to Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:40 am

Adding a downloadable PDF to your Squarespace website is a great way to provide your visitors with additional content. For example, you could add a PDF of your product catalog, price list, or even a company brochure.

To add a PDF to your Squarespace site, you’ll need to first upload it to an online storage service like Google Drive or Dropbox. Once it’s uploaded, you can then add it to your Squarespace site using the Embed Block.

The first thing you’ll need to do is upload the PDF file to an online storage service. For this example, we’ll use Google Drive.

PRO TIP: When adding a downloadable PDF to your Squarespace website, be sure to add it to a secure location. A downloadable PDF may contain sensitive information that you do not want to be publicly available.

Once the file is uploaded, you’ll need to get the sharing URL for the file. To do this, right-click on the file and select Get shareable link.

Next, log in to your Squarespace account and go to the page where you want to add the PDF. In the content editor, click on the + icon and select the Embed Block.

In the Embed Block settings, paste the sharing URL for your PDF file into the Content URL field. Make sure that the Display Mode is set to File and click Apply.

Your PDF will now be embedded on your Squarespace page and visitors will be able to download it by clicking on the link.
