Can You Add a Link in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:49 pm

Figma is a vector-based design tool that is widely used by designers and teams to create beautiful designs. One of its key features is the ability to add links to elements in the design, which makes it easy to share designs and prototypes with others.

So, can you add a link in Figma? The answer is yes! You can easily add a link to any element in your design, and there are a few different ways to do it.

To add a link to an element, simply select the element and then click on the “Link” icon in the toolbar. This will open the Link Settings dialog, where you can enter the URL or email address you want to link to. You can also choose whether you want the link to open in a new window or not.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to add a link in Figma, be aware that there are some potential risks. First, because Figma is a vector-based design tool, your links will be automatically turned into vector paths. This means that if you change the size or shape of your linked element, the link will be broken. Additionally, if you export your design as an image, your links will not be clickable.

Once you’ve entered the Link Settings, simply click “OK” and your link will be added to the element. You can then test it out by clicking on the element in your design.

If you want to remove a link from an element, simply select the element and click on the “Unlink” icon in the toolbar. This will remove the link from the element.

So there you have it! You can easily add links to elements in Figma, and there are a few different ways to do it. So go ahead and try it out for yourself!
