Can You Add Breakpoints in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 11:31 pm

Breakpoints in Figma are a great way to add variety to your designs. You can use them to create different versions of your design for different screen sizes, or to change the look of your design at different points in the design process.

Figma makes it easy to add breakpoints to your designs, and you can even add them to existing designs. Here’s how:

To add a breakpoint to an existing design, simply click on the breakpoint icon in the toolbar and then click on the element you want to add the breakpoint to. A breakpoint will be added at that point in the design.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that adding breakpoints in Figma is not currently possible. We recommend using an alternative tool for this purpose.

You can also add breakpoints to new designs by clicking on the breakpoint icon and then clicking on the canvas where you want to add the breakpoint. Figma will automatically create a new frame for you at that point in the design.

Once you’ve added breakpoints to your design, you can move elements around within each frame, or even between frames, by clicking and dragging them. This makes it easy to change the look of your design at different screen sizes or points in the design process.

So there you have it! Adding breakpoints to your Figma designs is a great way to create different versions of your designs for different purposes. Give it a try and see how it can help you in your next project!
