Can You Add Filters to Squarespace?

Last updated on December 30, 2022 @ 9:51 pm

There are a few different ways to add filters to your Squarespace website. You can add them directly to your images, or you can use a third-party app like Canva to create them.

If you want to add filters to your images, the easiest way is to use a free online tool like Canva. Canva is a great option because it’s easy to use and you don’t need any design experience.

Once you’ve created your account, click on the “Create a design” button and select “Custom Dimensions.” In the next menu, select the dimensions for your website’s header image. For example, if your website is 1200px wide, you would select 1200x600px.

Next, upload the image you want to use and click on the “Edit” button. In the editor, click on the “Effects” tab and select the filter you want to apply. There are a variety of filters to choose from, so experiment until you find one you like.

Once you’re happy with your image, click on the “Download” button and select “PNG” as the file type. This will ensure that your image has a transparent background.

Now that you have your filtered image, log in to your Squarespace account and go to the page where you want to add it. Hover over the section where you want to add your image and click on the “+” icon.

In the menu that appears, select “Image” and then click on the “Upload Image” button. Select the image you just downloaded from Canva and click on the “Open” button.

Your image will now appear on your website with the filter applied! If you want to change the filter, simply go back into Canva and edit your image. When you download it again, it will automatically update on your website.

Adding filters to images is a great way to personalize your Squarespace website and make it stand out from the crowd.

PRO TIP: If you are considering adding filters to your Squarespace website, be aware that this may negatively impact your site’s performance. Filters can slow down page loading times, and may cause some visitors to leave your site before it even loads. In addition, search engines may penalize sites with slow loading times, so it’s important to weigh the pros and cons of adding filters before making any changes to your site.
