Can You Collect Donations on Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:43 am

The short answer is yes, you can collect donations on Squarespace. You can use either the native donations feature or a third-party donation app. The native donations feature is simple to set up and use, and it doesn’t require any coding.

However, it has limited customization options and doesn’t accept recurring donations. If you need more customization or recurring donations, you’ll need to use a third-party donation app.

If you’re using the native Squarespace donations feature, you can set up a donation page in just a few clicks. To get started, log in to your Squarespace account and go to the Pages section.

Then, click the “+” icon and select “Donation Page” from the drop-down menu.

On the donation page, you can enter your organization’s name, mission statement, and other relevant information. You can also choose a button style and color, and decide whether to display the donation amount on the button.

Once you’re happy with your donation page, click “Save. ”

PRO TIP: There are a few things to be aware of before starting to collect donations on Squarespace:

1. Make sure you have a verified nonprofit organization account. You can do this by going to your account settings and selecting the “Nonprofit” tab.

2. Once you have a verified nonprofit account, you’ll need to create a donation page. To do this, go to the “Pages” section of your Squarespace account and click “Add Page.” Then, select “Donation” from the list of page types.

3. Enter all of the relevant information for your donation page, including the amount you would like to collect and the cause you are supporting. Be sure to proofread your page before publishing it!

4. Once your donation page is published, you can start sharing it with your supporters. Use social media, email, and other channels to let people know how they can donate to your cause.

5. Keep track of your donations using Squarespace’s built-in reporting tools. From your donation page, you can see how much money has been donated and who has made a contribution.

To accept donations, you’ll need to connect a payment processor. Squarespace currently integrates with Stripe, PayPal, and Authorize.net.

To connect a payment processor, go to the Donations section of your Squarespace settings and select your provider from the drop-down menu. Then, follow the instructions to connect your account.

Once your payment processor is set up, you’re ready to start accepting donations! When someone makes a donation on your Squarespace site, they’ll be redirected to your payment processor’s website to complete the transaction.

The native Squarespace donations feature is a great option if you’re looking for a simple way to collect donations without any coding. However, it has limited customization options and doesn’t accept recurring donations.
