Whether you’re designing a presentation for work or putting together a flyer for your child’s school event, choosing the right colors is essential to catching someone’s eye and conveying the right message. But with all of the color combinations out there, how do you know which one is right for your project?

Luckily, Canva’s color palette tool makes it easy to find the perfect colors for your design. With over 1 million stock photos, illustrations, and icons to choose from, you can create a custom color palette that fits the look and feel of your project. And best of all, you can access this tool right from the Canva editor.

To get started, open up the Canva editor and click on “Create a design.” Then, select “Use custom dimensions” and enter in the width and height of your design. For this example, we’ll be creating a square design, so we’ll enter in 500px for both the width and height.

Once your design is created, click on the “Text” tab in the editor sidebar and add some placeholder text. This will help us see how our colors look together in a design.

Next, click on the “+” icon in the editor sidebar and select “Color palette.” This will open up Canva’s color palette tool.

At the top of the color palette tool, you’ll see a search bar. You can use this search bar to find specific colors or browse through Canva’s collections of color palettes. For this example, we’ll be searching for “blue.”

PRO TIP: Can You Color Match on Canva?

If you’re looking to create a cohesive design, it’s important to be able to color match. Unfortunately, Canva’s color matching abilities are limited. While you can change the hue and saturation of an image, you can’t select a specific color to match. This means that if you’re trying to create a design with a specific color scheme in mind, you may run into some difficulty.

As you start typing in “blue,” you’ll see a variety of different blue hues appear in the drop-down menu. You can also use the slider to adjust the lightness or darkness of the color. Once you find a blue hue that you like, click on it to add it to your custom color palette.

You can repeat this process for as many colors as you want. When you’re finished adding colors to your palette, click on “Done.”

Conclusion: You can easily color match on Canva by using their color palette tool!
