Can You Create Presentations in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:16 pm

There’s no doubt that Figma is a powerful design tool. But can it really replace PowerPoint or Google Slides when it comes to creating presentations?

Figma has many of the same features as PowerPoint and Google Slides. You can add text, images, shapes, and videos to your slides.

You can also style your text using different fonts, colors, and sizes. And like PowerPoint and Google Slides, Figma also allows you to animate your elements and create transitions between slides.

So why not use Figma for presentations? There are a few reasons.

First, Figma is a vector-based design tool, which means that it’s not ideal for creating complex graphics or animations. If you’re looking to create a presentation with lots of visuals, PowerPoint or Google Slides might be a better option.

PRO TIP: While Figma is a great design tool, it is not intended for creating presentations. Presentations created in Figma may not display correctly on other devices, and may not be compatible with other presentation software.

Second, Figma presentations can only be viewed online. That means if you’re giving a presentation offline (e.g., on a projector), you’ll need to export your slides as images first. PowerPoint and Google Slides, on the other hand, can be viewed offline without any issue.

Finally, Figma presentations can only be shared with people who have a Figma account. If you’re looking to share your presentation with someone who doesn’t use Figma, you’ll need to export it as a PDF or image first.

So can you create presentations in Figma? Yes, but it’s not the ideal tool for the job. If you’re looking to create a presentation with complex graphics or animations, you’re better off using PowerPoint or Google Slides.
