Can You Do Monthly Subscription Shopify?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 10:52 pm

If you’re looking to set up a monthly subscription service, Shopify is a great option. With Shopify, you can easily set up a subscription plan that charges customers on a monthly basis.

You can also offer discounts for longer-term subscriptions, and even offer free shipping for subscribing customers. Plus, Shopify makes it easy to manage your subscription orders and customers.

Here’s how to set up a monthly subscription service using Shopify:

1. Choose a Shopify plan
The first step is to choose a Shopify plan.

If you’re just starting out, the Basic Shopify plan is a great option. This plan includes everything you need to get started, including unlimited products, 24/7 support, and fraud prevention. Plus, it’s only $29 per month.

If you’re looking for more advanced features, the Shopify Advanced plan is a great option. This plan includes features like abandoned cart recovery and advanced report builder. Plus, it’s only $79 per month.

2. Set up your subscription plan
Once you’ve chosen a Shopify plan, you’ll need to set up your subscription plan.

To do this, go to your Shopify admin and click on “Products.” Then, click on “Add product.”

Next, enter the product name and description. Then, scroll down to the “Inventory” section and enter the SKU (stock keeping unit) number for your product. This is the number that will be used to track your inventory levels.

Then, in the “Pricing” section, enter the price of your product. Make sure to include the recurring price in this section as well as any one-time charges (such as setup fees).

Next, in the “Shipping” section, enter the weight and dimensions of your product. This information is important so that Shopify can calculate shipping costs correctly.

Finally, in the “Images” section, upload images of your product. Make sure to include at least one high-resolution image so that customers can see what they’re subscribing to.

3. Configure your subscription settings
Once you’ve set up your subscription product, it’s time to configure your subscription settings.

To do this, go to your Shopify admin and click on “Settings.” Then click on “Checkout.”

In the “Checkout settings” section, select “Subscriptions” from the drop-down menu. This will enable subscriptions for your store.

Next, in the “Subscription settings” section, select whether you want to offer discounts for longer-term subscriptions and whether you want to offer free shipping for subscribing customers. You can also specify how often customers will be charged (monthly or yearly).

PRO TIP: If you are considering signing up for a monthly subscription with Shopify, be aware that there are some potential risks involved. First of all, Shopify may charge you a higher monthly rate if you opt for a monthly subscription, as opposed to paying upfront for a year or two. Additionally, if you cancel your subscription before the end of the month, you may be charged a cancellation fee. Finally, be sure to read the terms and conditions of your subscription carefully before signing up, as there may be some hidden fees or other charges that you were not aware of.
