As a general rule, you can duplicate blocks in Squarespace. This is useful if you want to create a similar design on multiple pages or if you want to experiment with different designs on a single page.
There are a few exceptions to this rule, however. For example, you cannot duplicate the Gallery Page Type or the Products Page Type. Additionally, certain blocks (such as the Code block) can only be used once per page.
To duplicate a block, open the page editor and hover over the block you want to duplicate. Click the Duplicate button that appears. The duplicated block will appear directly below the original block.
There are a few things to keep in mind when duplicating blocks:
- If you duplicate a block that contains content (such as text or an image), the content will also be duplicated.
- If you duplicate a block that is connected to an external data source (such as a social media account or an RSS feed), the connection will also be duplicated.
- If you duplicate a block that has been customized using CSS, the custom CSS will also be duplicated.
In most cases, duplicating blocks is a quick and easy way to create similar content on multiple pages or to experiment with different designs on a single page. There are a few exceptions to this rule, however, so be sure to keep those in mind before you start duplicating blocks.
