Can You Embed PDFS in Squarespace?

Last updated on December 28, 2022 @ 5:15 pm

As a general rule, you can’t embed PDFs in Squarespace. This is because Squarespace sites are built on HTML, and PDFs are not.

If you want to share a PDF on your Squarespace site, you’ll need to upload it to an external service like Dropbox or Google Drive and then embed the link.

There are a few exceptions to this rule. If you’re using the Squarespace Seven platform, you can use the File Block to embed PDFs. And if you’re using the Developer Platform, you can use custom code to embed PDFs.

But in most cases, you’ll need to upload your PDFs to an external service and then embed them on your Squarespace site using a link.

PRO TIP: While it is possible to embed PDFs in Squarespace, it is not recommended as there are potential security risks involved. PDFs can contain malicious code that can compromise the security of your website and your visitors’ computers. If you must embed a PDF, make sure to only do so from a trusted source.
