Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, developed by California-based software company Figma, Inc. It is available in a web browser and as a desktop application for macOS and Windows.
Figma has been described as “the first interface design tool with real-time collaboration”, and as “the Google Docs of design tools”. Figma’s primary function is to help designers create vector illustrations, interface designs, and prototypes.
In addition to its vector graphics editing capabilities, Figma also provides users with the ability to add text to their designs. This can be done by selecting the ‘Text’ tool from the toolbar, or by pressing the ‘T’ key on the keyboard. Once the text tool is selected, users can click anywhere on the canvas to create a text box.
The text box can be resized by clicking and dragging the sides or corners. To edit the text itself, simply click inside the text box and start typing. The text will automatically wrap to fit within the text box.
Users can also change the font family, size, color, and style of the text by selecting the ‘Text’ option from the top toolbar. For more advanced styling options, users can select the ‘Advanced’ option from the top toolbar, which will provide access to additional styling options such as line height, character spacing, and paragraph spacing.
One of the most useful features of Figma is its ability to create prototypes. Prototypes allow designers to test their designs before they’re finalized. To create a prototype in Figma, simply select the ‘Prototype’ option from the top toolbar.
Once you’ve selected the ‘Prototype’ option, you’ll be able to choose how you want your prototype to function. You can choose from a variety of options such as linking pages together, adding animations, or setting triggers.
After you’ve selected your prototype options, you’ll need to add your designs to your prototype. To do this, simply drag and drop your designs onto the canvas. Once your designs are in place, you can link them together by clicking and dragging between them.
Once your prototype is complete, you can test it by clicking on the ‘Play’ button in the top toolbar. This will allow you to interact with your prototype just as a user would when it’s finalised. If you’re happy with how your prototype functions, you can export it by selecting the ‘Export’ option from the top toolbar.
So yes! You can enter text in Figma Prototype 🙂
