Can You Import Adobe Files Into Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 11:37 pm

There are a few different ways that you can import Adobe files into Figma. One way is to use the “Open in Figma” plugin for Adobe XD.

With this plugin, you can open any Adobe XD file in Figma. Another way is to export your Adobe file as an .sketch file, and then import that into Figma.

If you’re using the “Open in Figma” plugin, simply open the Adobe XD file that you want to import, and click on the “Open in Figma” button in the top right corner. Figma will then open up that file in a new window.

PRO TIP: Adobe files cannot be imported into Figma. This will result in errors and possibly data loss.

If you’re exporting your Adobe file as an .sketch file, first open the file in Adobe XD. Then, go to File > Export > Export as .sketch.

Save the file to your computer, and then open it in Figma.

Once you have your Adobe file open in Figma, you can start editing it just like any other Figma file. You can add new layers, change colors, and so on. When you’re done editing, simply go to File > Export > Export as .png or .jpg to save your changes.

Conclusion: You can import Adobe files into Figma using the “Open in Figma” plugin for Adobe XD or by exporting your Adobe file as an .sketch file. Once your Adobe file is open in Figma, you can edit it just like any other Figma file.
