Can You Outline Text in Canva?

Last updated on December 3, 2022 @ 9:14 pm

Most people think that Canva is only a great tool for creating stunning visuals. However, many people don’t realize that it’s also a great tool for creating well-formatted text. In this article, we’ll show you how to use Canva to outline text and style it using HTML tags.

First, let’s take a look at how to outline text in Canva. To do this, simply select the ‘Text’ tool from the left-hand sidebar and then click on the ‘Outline’ button in the top toolbar. This will open up a new window where you can specify the thickness and color of your outline.

Once you’re happy with your settings, simply click ‘OK’ and then type out your text. You’ll notice that it’s now surrounded by an outline! If you want to remove the outline, simply click on the ‘Outline’ button again and select ‘None’.

Now let’s take a look at how to style text using HTML tags. As we mentioned before, HTML tags are used to format text on web pages.

There are three tags that we’ll be focusing on in this article: < p >, < b >, and < u >.

The < p > tag is used to define a paragraph of text. To use it, simply surround the text you want in a paragraph with the opening < p > tag and the closing < /p > tag. For example:

This is a paragraph of text.

The < b > tag is used to make text bold. To use it, simply surround the text you want to make bold with the opening < b > tag and the closing < /b > tag. For example:

This text is bold.

Finally, the < u > tag is used to underline text. To use it, simply surround the text you want to underline with the opening < u > tag and the closing < /u > tag. For example:

This text is underlined.

So there you have it! Now you know how to use Canva to outline text and style it using HTML tags. Give it a try yourself and see how easy it is to create beautiful visuals with Canva!

PRO TIP: If you are looking to outline text in Canva, be aware that there is no direct way to do so. However, you can create a work-around by creating a text box, filling it with the color you want your outline to be, and then placing your text on top of it. Keep in mind that this will increase the file size of your design, so use this technique sparingly.
