Can You Put an Index in a Folder on Squarespace?

You can put an index in a folder on Squarespace, but it won’t be automatically generated like it would be if you added it to a blog post or page. You’ll need to create the index manually using HTML and CSS.

To do this, first create a new folder in your Squarespace account and name it something like “Index”. Then, create a new file in that folder and name it “index.html”.

In the “index.html” file, you’ll need to add the following code:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Index</title>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

PRO TIP: While it is possible to create a folder and add an index page to that folder on Squarespace, it is not recommended. This can cause problems with your site’s navigation and search engine optimization (SEO).

Once you’ve saved the “index.html” file, you can view your index by going to www.yoursite.com/index/index.html in your browser. If you want to style the text or add additional content, you can do so by editing the code in the “index.html” file.

The conclusion is – You can put an index in a folder on Squarespace, but it is not automatic like on other parts of the site.
