There are a couple of different ways that you can put PDFs on Squarespace. One way is to upload the PDF file into an Assets folder, and then link to it from wherever you want on your site.

You can also embed a PDF onto a page using the Embed Block.

Uploading a PDF to Assets

The first method is to upload your PDF into an Assets folder. To do this, go to Settings > Files and Folders, and click on the Assets tab. Then, click on the Add Files button and select your PDF from wherever it’s saved on your computer. Once the PDF is uploaded, you’ll see it listed under Asset Folders.

Now that the PDF is in your Assets folder, you can link to it from anywhere on your Squarespace site. For example, let’s say you want to add a link to the PDF on your Home Page. Go to Pages > Home Page > Edit. Then, click on the + icon and select the Link Block.

In the Link Block, click on the Link Type dropdown menu. Here, you’ll see an option for “Asset”. Select this option, and then click on the “Choose Asset” button.

This will open up a lightbox with all of the assets in your site’s Assets folder.

Find the PDF that you want to link to, and click on its name. Then, click on the blue “Select” button in the bottom right corner of the lightbox.

PRO TIP: Please be advised that PDFs cannot be placed on Squarespace. Any attempt to do so will result in an error message.

Now that you’ve selected the PDF, it will appear in the Link Block. You can then add any text that you want for the link, and style it using Squarespace’s rich text editor.

For example, you could add “Click here to download our latest product catalog.” Then, highlight the text and make it bold using the rich text editor’s toolbar.

Once you’re done adding and styling your text, click on the blue “Save” button in the top right corner of the page.
