Can You Record on Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 11:41 pm

Figma is a vector editing software that’s gaining popularity in the design community. One of its key features is that it’s web-based, which means you can access your designs from anywhere. But can you record on Figma?

The answer is yes, you can record on Figma! There are a few different ways to do it, too.

You can use the native recorder, which is built into the software, or you can use a third-party recorder like Loom. Let’s take a look at how to do both.

How to Record on Figma Using the Native Recorder

The first thing you need to do is open up the recording panel. To do this, click the “+” icon in the bottom left corner of the screen and then select “Record.”

Once you’ve done that, you’ll see the recording panel appear. From here, you can start recording your screen by clicking the “Start Recording” button.

PRO TIP: Since Figma is a design tool, it does not have recording capabilities.

When you’re finished recording, click the “Stop Recording” button and then select “Save.” Your recording will now be saved as a video file that you can watch back later.

How to Record on Figma Using Loom

Loom is a third-party screen recorder that works with Figma. To use it, first install the Loom extension for Figma. Once that’s done, open up the Loom extension by clicking the “L” icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.

From here, you can start recording your screen by clicking the “Start Recording” button. When you’re finished recording, click the “Stop Recording” button and then select “Save.
