Have you ever wanted to select an object in Photoshop based on its color, rather than its shape? Well, you’re in luck! Photoshop has a feature called “Quick Mask” that lets you do just that.
To use Quick Mask, first make a selection of the area you want to mask. Then, go to the Quick Mask options in the toolbar and select “Color Range.”
In the Color Range dialog box that appears, choose “Sampled Colors” from the drop-down menu. Then, click on the object you want to select and drag the cursor over it to sample its colors.
Once you’ve sampled the colors, you’ll see a preview of the selection in the dialog box. If you’re happy with it, click “OK” to apply the mask. Now, when you paint over the object with a brush tool, only the area that was selected will be affected.
Quick Mask is a great way to quickly and easily select objects based on their color. Give it a try next time you’re working in Photoshop!
