Can You Share a Shopify Theme?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 5:14 am

If you’re thinking about using Shopify to build an online store, you may be wondering if you can share themes between multiple stores. The answer is yes, you can share themes between stores, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

PRO TIP: If you are thinking about sharing a Shopify theme with someone, there are a few things you should know. First, when you share a theme, the other person will have access to all of your Shopify account’s settings and data. This includes your store’s inventory, customers, orders, and financial information. Second, sharing a theme also gives the other person access to your account’s password and login information. So if you are not comfortable with someone having access to all of your account information, we recommend that you do not share your Shopify theme.

When sharing themes between multiple stores, it’s important to keep the following in mind:

  • Each store must have its own unique domain name. This is so that each store can have its own unique identity and branding.
  • Themes can only be shared between stores that are on the same Shopify plan. This means that if you’re on the Basic plan, you can only share themes with other stores that are on the Basic plan. If you’re on the Advanced or Professional plan, you can share themes with other stores on those plans.
  • You can only share themes with other Shopify merchants who have given you explicit permission to do so. This means that you can’t just take a theme from one store and use it on another store without the original owner’s permission. If you want to use a theme from another store, you’ll need to get in touch with the owner and ask for permission first.

Keep these things in mind and you’ll be able to share themes between multiple stores without any problems. Just remember to get permission from the original owner before using a theme from another store.
