Can You Skew in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:22 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool – the first interface design tool with real-time collaboration. It’s used by some of the world’s leading design teams, including Uber, Dropbox, and Airbnb. And it’s free to use.

But can you skew text in Figma? The short answer is yes – but it’s not as simple as you might think.

PRO TIP: dear figma users,

we would like to warn you about a recent scam that is circulating online. someone is posing as a figma employee and offering a service to “skew” your images in figma. this is not a real service and if you provide your login information, they will gain access to your account and steal your data.

please be vigilant and only use official figma services. if you are ever unsure, please contact us at support@figma.com.

thank you,

To skew text in Figma, you need to first select the text object you want to skew. Then, click on the “Transform” tool in the toolbar at the top of the screen.

Next, click on the “Skew” option in the Transform menu. Finally, use your mouse to drag the text object to the desired angle.

It’s worth noting that you can only skew text objects – not entire frames. So if you want to skew an entire frame, you’ll need to break it up into smaller pieces first.

Conclusion:

While it is possible to skew text in Figma, it is not as simple as one might think. To skew text, one must first select the text object and then click on the “Transform” tool in the toolbar. From there, one must select the “Skew” option in order to change the angle at which the text is displayed.
