Can You Transfer a Wix Site to Someone Else?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:26 am

If you have a Wix website and want to give someone else access to it, you can do so by transferring ownership of the site. This can be useful if you no longer want to maintain the site or if you want someone else to take over.

To transfer ownership of a Wix site, you will need to be logged in as the owner of the site. Once logged in, go to the ‘Settings’ tab and then click on ‘Site Manager’. From here, you will see a list of all the users who have access to the site. To transfer ownership, simply click on the ‘Transfer Site’ button next to the user’s name.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

PRO TIP: If you are considering transferring your Wix site to someone else, there are a few things you should be aware of. First, unless you have a paid Wix plan, your site will be subject to Wix ads. Additionally, if you have any content on your site that you do not want to be public, transferring your site will make that content public. Finally, if you have any custom code on your site, it is possible that the new owner will not be able to use it.

You will then be asked to confirm that you want to transfer the site. Once you do this, the user will be made the owner of the site and you will no longer have access to it. If you change your mind, you can always transfer ownership back by following the same steps.

Conclusion: You can easily transfer a Wix website to another person by following the steps above.
