Yes! You can use Figma for print design and it’s actually really easy. In this article, we’ll show you how to set up your file and export your design as a PDF that’s ready to print.
When you first open Figma, you’ll be presented with a blank canvas. The first thing you need to do is create a new frame.
To do this, click on the ‘+’ icon in the top left-hand corner and select ‘Frame’ from the menu.
A frame is essentially a container for your design. It defines the width and height of your design, as well as the background color.
For print design, we recommend setting the width and height to 8.5×11 inches. You can also set the background color to white by clicking on the color swatch in the top right-hand corner and selecting ‘White’ from the color picker.
Once you’ve created your frame, it’s time to start designing! If you’re not sure where to start, check out our collection of free print templates. Just remember to keep your design simple – less is more when it comes to print.

This is usually not an issue with digital designs but it can be a problem when printing. To avoid any issues with bleed, make sure that your designs have at least 0.125 inches (3mm) of bleed on all sides.
Finally, keep in mind that Figma was designed primarily for web and app design and as
This will open up the Export PDF dialog box. Here, you can choose whether to export the whole file or just the selected frames. For print design, we recommend exporting just the selected frames. This ensures that your design will be exported at the correct size and resolution.
