Can You Use SF Symbols in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 11:44 pm

SF Symbols is a set of over 1,500 configurable symbols you can use in your app. Each symbol is available in a light and dark theme. You can also create your own set of symbols using the Custom Symbols feature in Figma.

You can use SF Symbols in Figma by adding the SF Symbols font to your project, and then using the Insert Text tool to insert the desired symbol.

PRO TIP: SF Symbols are not currently compatible with Figma. While you may be able to use them in your design, there is no guarantee that they will render correctly when exported.

Once you have inserted the symbol, you can change its color, stroke width, and other properties using the Text Settings panel.

SF Symbols are vector symbols, so they can be scaled to any size without losing fidelity.
