Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:08 am

If you have your own domain name, you can absolutely use it with Wix! In fact, we recommend it.

Using your own domain name makes your website look more professional and credible, and it also gives you more control over your brand identity and online presence. Plus, it’s really easy to do. You can either transfer your domain to Wix or point it to your Wix site.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

If you transfer your domain to Wix, we’ll manage everything for you. You’ll still be able to renew it and make changes to your DNS settings from your Wix account. And if you ever want to move your site to another platform, transferring your domain away from Wix will be a breeze.

If you decide to keep your domain with its current registrar, you can still use it with Wix! Just point your domain’s DNS settings to Wix and we’ll take care of the rest.

You can find step-by-step instructions for how to do this in our Help Center. Once you’ve pointed your domain to Wix, you can manage everything from your Wix account – no need to log in to another platform.

Either way, using your own domain name with Wix is easy peasy! So if you haven’t already, we urge you to claim yours today.

PRO TIP: If you are using a Wix-branded domain, you can only use it with your Wix account. You cannot transfer it to another registrar or use it with another web-hosting service. If you cancel your Wix account, your Wix-branded domain will be available for others to register.
