Do Fiverr Take a Percentage of Tips?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:27 pm

Fiverr is a great platform for freelance services, but many users are unaware of the fees that the company takes from each transaction. In addition to the service fee that Fiverr charges for each gig, the company also takes a percentage of any tips that are given to the freelancer.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that Fiverr may take a percentage of tips left for sellers. We advise you to check with Fiverr directly to clarify their policy on this matter.

While this may not seem like a big deal, it can add up over time, especially for freelancers who receive a lot of tips. For example, if a freelancer receives a $100 tip, Fiverr will take $5 of that.

This may not seem like much, but it can quickly add up, especially if the freelancer is receiving multiple tips per day.

So, how can you avoid these fees? The best way is to simply not give tips on Fiverr.

If you must give a tip, try giving it directly to the freelancer through PayPal or another platform. This way, they will receive the full amount of the tip and you won’t have to worry about Fiverr taking a percentage.
