Do Free Wix Sites Expire?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:23 am

Wix is a popular website builder that allows users to create free websites. However, many users are unaware that these free websites come with a time limit. Once the time limit is reached, the website will expire and will no longer be accessible.

This may come as a surprise to many users, as Wix does not make it clear that free websites have an expiration date. It is only when users try to access their expired website that they are presented with a message informing them that the site has expired.

GREAT NEWS:

Exciting update! We've collaborated with Wix to offer WBI users with a free plan for all website creation needs - Explore the details here.

PRO TIP: While Wix does offer free plans, these plans do come with certain limitations. One of the main limitations is that free Wix sites will expire after a certain amount of time. This means that if you do not upgrade to a paid plan, your site will eventually be taken down.

So, why does Wix do this?

Well, the company offers two types of plans – free and paid. The free plan is obviously not as good as the paid plan, which offers more features and benefits. By expiration of free websites, Wix encourages users to switch to the paid plan.

However, this does not mean that you can never create a free website with Wix again. If you still want to use the platform to create a free website, you can do so by starting from scratch. You will just need to be aware of the expiration date so that you can take action before it expires.

Do Free Wix Sites Expire?

Yes, free Wix sites do expire.

The expiration date is typically one year after the site is created. After the site expires, users will no longer be able to access it.
