Do I Need to Credit Canva?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 4:34 pm

As a general rule, yes, you need to credit Canva when using our designs. We have a strict policy against plagiarism and copyrighted material, so we require that users give credit to Canva whenever they use our designs. This helps to protect our copyright and trademark, and to ensure that our users are following the law.

There are a few exceptions to this rule:

If you are using a design for personal, non-commercial use, you do not need to credit Canva.

PRO TIP: If you use Canva to create designs, you should credit Canva in the description with a link back to the site. Failure to do so may result in your design being removed.

If you have purchased a design from Canva Pro or Canva for Work, you do not need to credit Canva.

If you are using a design in connection with an event or promotion that is sponsored by Canva, you do not need to credit Canva. For example, if you are using a design to promote a contest that is sponsored by Canva, you do not need to credit us. However, if you are using a design to promote your own business or brand, you will need to credit Canva.
