Does Adobe Photoshop Work on M1 Mac?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 2:39 pm

Adobe Photoshop is a widely used program for crafting digital images. For many users, it is the only tool they need to create stunning visual content.

However, some users have found that Adobe Photoshop does not work on their new M1 Macs. Here is a look at whether or not Adobe Photoshop works on M1 Macs.

Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Inc. for macOS and Windows. It was originally created in 1988 by Thomas and John Knoll. Since then, it has become the de facto industry standard in raster graphics editing, to the point that it has also become an adjective in its own right (e.g., “photoshop”).

PRO TIP: Adobe Photoshop is not currently compatible with M1 Macs. If you try to install it, you may encounter errors and unexpected behavior.

So, does Adobe Photoshop work on M1 Macs? The answer is yes… and no.

Adobe has released an early beta version of Photoshop that is compatible with Apple Silicon Macs. However, this beta version is not yet ready for prime time and is missing some key features that are essential for many users.

In other words, while you can technically use Adobe Photoshop on your M1 Mac, it is not yet fully functional and you may find yourself missing some of the features that you rely on. For now, it may be best to stick with another program or wait for Adobe to release a more fully-featured version of Photoshop for M1 Macs.

Adobe has not yet released a fully compatible version of Photoshop for M1 Macs, so users may find themselves missing some key features that they rely on.
