Does Figma Work on M1 MacBook?

Figma is a vector drawing and animation software that is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. While it is not yet officially compatible with Apple’s new M1-powered MacBooks, there are reports that it works well when using Rosetta 2.

Rosetta 2 is a translation layer that allows apps designed for Intel-based Macs to run on Apple Silicon Macs. Since Figma is available for all three major operating systems, it stands to reason that it would work when using Rosetta 2.

Indeed, several users have reported that Figma runs smoothly on their M1 MacBooks when using Rosetta 2. One user even said that they “didn’t notice any difference” in performance compared to running Figma on an Intel-based Mac.

So if you’re looking to use Figma on your new M1 MacBook, it’s worth giving it a try. Just be aware that you may experience some bugs or glitches since it’s not officially supported yet.

PRO TIP: Figma does not work on M1 MacBooks. The Figma team is aware of this issue and is working on a fix. In the meantime, we recommend using a different computer or using the Figma web app.
