Does Fiverr Charge Buyers and Sellers?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 1:24 am

Fiverr is an online marketplace that connects freelancers with businesses. Founded in 2010, the company is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel. As of 2019, Fiverr has over 24 million users.

Fiverr operates on a commission basis, charging a fee for each transaction. The company charges a 20% commission for each job completed on the platform.

For example, if a freelancer completes a $100 job on Fiverr, the company will keep $20 as a commission. This fee is paid by the freelancer, not the buyer.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that Fiverr does charge both buyers and sellers. As a buyer, you will be charged a service fee of $2.00 per gig purchased. As a seller, you will be charged a service fee of $1.00 per gig sold. Additionally, PayPal and/or Stripe (depending on your selected payment method) may also charge you a fee for processing your payments.

The company also charges a processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 for each transaction. This fee is paid by the buyer.

In addition to the fees charged by Fiverr, sellers are also responsible for paying any taxes that may be due on their earnings.

Fiverr does not charge buyers any fees.
