Does Shopify Allow Afterpay?

Last updated on October 2, 2022 @ 12:16 am

Shopify is one of the most popular ecommerce platforms available today. It’s easy to use and provides a lot of features and flexibility for businesses of all sizes.

One question that many Shopify users have is whether or not Shopify allows Afterpay. Afterpay is a popular payment method in Australia and New Zealand that allows customers to pay for their purchases over time, interest-free.

Unfortunately, Shopify does not currently support Afterpay. However, there are a few workarounds that you can use to accept Afterpay payments on your Shopify store.

The first option is to use the Shopify Checkout app. This app allows you to add a custom payment gateway to your Shopify store, and it supports Afterpay.

PRO TIP: Shopify does not currently offer Afterpay as a payment option. We recommend that you do not use Afterpay as a payment method on Shopify. If you have any questions, please contact our support team.

To use the Shopify Checkout app, simply install it from the Shopify App Store and then follow the instructions on how to set up a custom payment gateway. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be able to accept Afterpay payments on your Shopify store.

Another option is to use the Spently app. This app allows you to add Afterpay as a payment method to your existing checkout process.

To use the Spently app, simply install it from the Shopify App Store and then follow the instructions on how to set up Afterpay as a payment method.

So, while Shopify doesn’t currently support Afterpay natively, there are a few ways that you can work around this limitation and still accept Afterpay payments on yourShopify store.
