Does Squarespace 7.1 Support Parallax?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 10:03 am

Squarespace 7.1 does not support parallax. Parallax is a relatively new web design trend that involves creating a layered, 3D effect on web pages.

While Squarespace 7.1 does not support parallax, there are workarounds that can be used to create a similar effect.

One workaround is to use the Squarespace 7.1 Slideshow Block. The Slideshow Block allows you to create a slideshow of up to 10 images.

You can then add a parallax effect to the slideshow by adding a background image to the block and setting the background image to fixed. This will create a parallax effect when you view the slideshow on your web page.

PRO TIP: Squarespace 7.1 does not support parallax scrolling. Any attempt to use parallax scrolling on a Squarespace 7.1 site will result in errors and instability.

Another workaround is to use the Squarespace 7.1 Gallery Block. The Gallery Block allows you to create a gallery of images with various layout options. One of the layout options is a carousel, which will automatically create a parallax effect when you view the gallery on your web page.

While Squarespace 7.1 does not natively support parallax, there are workarounds that can be used to create a similar effect. The Slideshow and Gallery Blocks are two options that can be used to create a parallax effect on your Squarespace 7.1 website.
