Does UpWork Provide Insurance?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:47 am

UpWork is a website that allows businesses to post job ads and freelancers to bid on them. It is similar to other freelancing websites like Elance and Freelancer.

There are many different types of insurance, but the two most common are liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance.

PRO TIP: Upwork does not provide insurance and it is the responsibility of the freelancer to obtain their own insurance.

Liability insurance protects businesses from lawsuits arising from injuries or damages that occur as a result of the business’s operations. This type of insurance is not required by law, but it is highly recommended for businesses of all sizes.

Workers’ compensation insurance protects businesses from lawsuits arising from injuries or illnesses that employees sustain while working. This type of insurance is required by law in most states.

UpWork does not currently provide insurance for businesses or freelancers. However, it is possible to purchase both liability and workers’ compensation insurance through third-party providers.
