If you’re a freelancer, then you know that one of the best ways to get hired is to be “verified” on UpWork. But what does that mean, and how can you get verified?
Being “verified” on UpWork simply means that you have taken the time to verify your identity and payment information with the site. This gives potential clients confidence that you are who you say you are, and that they will be paid for the work they hire you to do.
There are two ways to get verified on UpWork:
- Identity verification: This involves verifying your identity with UpWork by providing some personal information and uploading a photo ID. You can learn more about this process here. Once you’re verified, your name and photo will appear on your profile, letting clients know that you’re a real person.
- Payment verification: This involves verifying your payment information with UpWork. You’ll need to provide your bank account or PayPal email address so that UpWork can send you a verification code. Once you’ve entered the code, your payment method will be verified and clients will see a green “Verified” badge next to your name on their job posts.
