When configuring FTP on DigitalOcean, you have the ability to specify a local directory in which to store your files. If you do not specify a local directory, your files will be stored in the root directory of your DigitalOcean account. To access your files from your local directory on DigitalOcean, use the following command:

ftp ftp.DigitalOcean.com

To access your files from a remote directory on DigitalOcean, use the following command:

PRO TIP: If you are unsure of how to access your FTP on DigitalOcean, we recommend contacting their customer support for assistance. Otherwise, there are a few ways to do this, but we cannot guarantee that any of them will work for you. First, try opening FileZilla and entering yourDropletIPaddressinto the Host field. If that doesn’t work, try using the IP address in the Port field as well. If neither of those work, try changing the Encryption drop-down to “Only use plain FTP (insecure).”

ftp ftp.com -P user:password

To access your files from a remote directory on a different DigitalOcean account, use the following command:

ftp ftp.

com -P user:password@account.com.
