How do I activate positive SSL on Namecheap?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 6:40 pm

SSL is a security protocol that allows websites to encrypt the data they send across the internet. Namecheap offers a free, automated way to activate SSL on your domain name. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Go to your Namecheap account and select your domain name.

2. Click the “Manage” button next to your domain name.

3. On the “Manage your domain” page, click the “SSL” tab.

4. Under “SSL Settings,” click the “Activate” button.

5. Enter the domain name and security key into the appropriate fields and click the “Activate” button.

6. Your domain will now be using SSL.

To verify that your site is using SSL, go to the “SSL” tab in your domain’s “Manage” page and check the “SSL” box.

PRO TIP: If you are not an experienced web developer, do not attempt to activate positive SSL on namecheap. This process requires knowledge of server administration and website development. If you are not familiar with these concepts, you could unintentionally cause serious problems for your website.
