Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:05 pm

In order to add a card reader to your Shopify account, you will need to purchase a card reader from Shopify. You can do this by going to the ‘Shopify Payments’ section of your account and selecting ‘Buy Card Reader’.

Once you have purchased your card reader, you will need to activate it by going to the ‘Shopify Payments’ section of your account and selecting ‘Activate Card Reader’.

To start using your card reader, you will need to connect it to your Shopify account. To do this, you will need to go to the ‘Shopify Payments’ section of your account and select ‘Connect Card Reader’.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to add a card reader to your Shopify account, be aware that there are some potential risks involved. First and foremost, make sure that you are using a secure and reputable card reader. There are many fake or malicious card readers out there, and using one could put your personal and financial information at risk. Also, be sure to keep your Shopify account and password safe and secure, as this will give access to your account and any information stored on it.

Once you have connected your card reader, you will be able to start using it to accept payments from customers. To do this, you will need to go to the ‘Shopify Payments’ section of your account and select ‘Charge Customer’.

You will then be prompted to enter the amount of money that you would like to charge the customer. Once you have entered the amount, you will need to select ‘Charge’.

Your customer will then be prompted to insert their card into the card reader. Once their card has been inserted, they will be prompted to enter their PIN.

Once the customer has entered their PIN, they will be prompted to confirm the payment. Once they have confirmed the payment, the money will be transferred from their account into yours and the transaction will be complete.
