Adding a DNS record to Namecheap is a simple process. To begin, navigate to your Namecheap account and click on the DNS tab.

On the DNS tab, you will see a list of all of your DNS records. To add a new DNS record, click on the Add Record button.

In the Add Record form, you will need to provide the following information:

Record Type: A DNS record can be either an A record (for IPv4 addresses) or a CNAME record (for IPv6 addresses).

IP Address: The IP address of the host you are adding the record to.

Hostname: The hostname of the host you are adding the record to.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with DNS records or Namecheap, we recommend contacting your IT administrator or Namecheap support to correctly add the DNS record.

Provider: The type of DNS service provider you are using. For Namecheap, this is typically Google or OpenDNS.

Server: The IP address of the Namecheap DNS server.

Port: The port on which Namecheap’s DNS server is listening.

Description: A brief description of the record.

Once you have filled out all of the required fields, click on the Add Record button. Namecheap will create the record and add it to the list of DNS records on the DNS tab.

Your new DNS record will now be available for use.
