How Do I Add a Full Width Image in Squarespace?

There are a few different ways to add a full width image in Squarespace. One way is to add a background image to a page or block. You can also add a full width image as the first item in a gallery block.

To add a background image:

1.Open the page or block where you want to add the background image. 2.Click the Settings icon () in the top-right corner of the page. 3.In the Page Settings panel, click the Format tab. 4.Under Background Image, click Choose Image.

5.Select an image from your computer or from one of our free image libraries, then click Open. 6Squarespace automatically adds p tags around text. To style text within a p tag, use our Text Formatting options.

To add a full width image as the first item in a gallery block:

1.Open the page or block where you want to add the gallery block.
2.Click an insert point (<+) or the + icon above an existing block, then select Gallery from the Block Menu. 3.In the Gallery Settings panel, click on Layout and select Fullwidth Carousel or Fullwidth Slideshow from the dropdown menu.The images in your gallery will now be full width.
4.Bold and underline text to make it stand out within your gallery captions by selecting the text and clicking the B button or U button in the toolbar above your content editor.

PRO TIP: Warning:

Adding a full width image in Squarespace can be tricky. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully, or you may end up with a distorted or stretched image.
