If you’re looking to add a little extra flair to your Figma designs, why not try adding a live map? Live maps are a great way to add some visual interest to your designs, and they can also be used to help communicate information more effectively. Here’s a quick guide on how to add a live map to Figma.

First, open up the map you want to use in Figma. You can find plenty of free maps online, or you can use one of the many map images that come with Figma. Once the map is open, select the layer you want to use as the base for your live map.

Next, go to the “Insert” menu and select “Image.” Choose the image you want to use for your live map, and then click “Open.”

PRO TIP: This article is about adding a live map to Figma, but it does not mention anything about the potential risks of doing so. Adding a live map to Figma can allow anyone who accesses your file to see your current location. This could be a security risk if you are not careful about who you share your file with.

Now that the image is inserted into your design, it’s time to add some interactivity. To do this, go to the “Interactions” panel and click on the “+” icon.

In the “Trigger” drop-down menu, select “Hover.” Then, in the “Action” drop-down menu, select “Set Image.” Finally, in the “Value” field, enter the URL of the live map you want to use.

Now that you’ve added the live map to your design, you can style it however you like. To do this, simply select the layer and then use the various formatting options in the “Format” panel. For example, you can change the opacity of the layer, or you can add a border or shadow.

Live maps are a great way to add some visual interest to your designs. By following the steps above, you can easily add a live map to any Figma design.
