How Do I Add a Password to a Squarespace Page?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 8:29 am

If you have a Squarespace account, you can add a password to any page on your site. This is a great way to keep your content secure, or to create a private page that only certain people can access. To add a password to a page, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Squarespace account and go to the page you want to password-protect.

2. Click the gear icon at the top of the page to access the Settings menu.

3. In the Settings menu, click Password Protection.

4. Select Enable Password Protection.

5. Enter a password in the Password field. You can also add a hint for people who might forget the password.

6. Click Save Changes.

Now, anyone who tries to access that page will be prompted to enter the password before they can view its contents. Keep in mind that if you password-protect a page, any links to that page from other pages on your site will be broken. So if you want people to be able to access the page from other parts of your site, make sure to include the password in the link.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that adding a password to a Squarespace page is only possible if you are using the Business or Commerce plans. If you are using one of the other plans, you will not be able to add a password.
