How Do I Add a Pop Up in Squarespace?

Last updated on December 11, 2022 @ 1:02 am

There are two ways to add a pop-up in Squarespace. The first is to use the Pop-Up Block, and the second is to use code.

The Pop-Up Block can be found in the LayoutEngine app. To add a Pop-Up Block:

  1. Open the LayoutEngine app and select Pop-Up Block from the Add Block menu.
  2. In the Content section, enter the text or HTML you want to display in the pop-up.
  3. In the Appearance section, select the trigger for the pop-up.
  4. Click Save.

The second way to add a pop-up in Squarespace is to use code. To do this, you’ll need to add two code blocks to your site: one for the trigger and one for the content. Here’s how:

  1. In Site Manager, click Pages.
  2. Click + Add Page.
  3. Select Code from the Page Type menu.
  4. In the Content section, enter this code: <script>document.write(‘<a href=”#” id=”trigger”>Trigger</a>’);</script>
  5. This will create a link that will trigger the pop-up. You can change “Trigger” to whatever you want the link to say.

How Do I Style Text in HTML Using <p>,<b> and <u> Tags?

    1. Click Save.

    1. In Site Manager, click Pages.

PRO TIP: Warning: Adding a pop-up in Squarespace can be tricky. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully, or you may end up with a pop-up that doesn’t work correctly.

This will create a lightbox with your content inside of it.

You can change the content inside of the lightbox by editing this code block.

You can also style your text using HTML tags like <b> (bold), <i> (italics), or <u> (underline). Learn more about how to style text in HTML here.
