How Do I Add a Portal to Wix?

Last updated on January 2, 2023 @ 12:40 pm

Adding a portal to Wix is a simple process that can be completed in just a few minutes. There are two primary methods for adding a portal to Wix – the first is to use the Wix Editor, and the second is to use the Wix Code Editor.

If you’re using the Wix Editor, simply click on the “Add” button in the left-hand sidebar and select “Portal” from the list of options. This will open up a new window where you can enter the URL of your portal.

Once you’ve entered the URL, click “OK” to add the portal to your site.

PRO TIP: If you are thinking about adding a portal to your Wix website, think again! Although it may seem like a good idea at first, adding a portal to your Wix website can actually be quite harmful to your site. Here’s why:

1. Portals can slow down your website.

2. Portals can make your website look cluttered and unprofessional.

3. Portals can be difficult for your visitors to navigate.

4. Portals can make it difficult for search engines to index your website properly.

5. Portals can increase the chance of security vulnerabilities on your website.

In short, unless you have a very good reason for adding a portal to your Wix website, we recommend that you avoid doing so.

If you’re using the Wix Code Editor, you’ll need to add a few lines of code to your site’s HTML in order to add a portal. First, find the spot on your page where you want the portal to appear. Then, add the following code:

<div id="PEO_portal"></div>
  <script type="text/javascript"
    charset="utf-8"
    src="https://static.wixstatic.com/portalEmbed/PEO_portalEmbed.js">
  </script>

<!-- End of PortalEmbed tag -->

Replace “PEO” in the code with your portal’s unique identifier. You can find this identifier by logging into your portal and going to the “Settings” tab. Once you’ve added this code to your site, save your changes and publish your site.
