How do I add a subdomain to HostGator?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 6:57 pm

Adding a subdomain to HostGator is a fairly simple process. First, navigate to HostGator’s Domain Management page.

You will need to enter the name of the domain you want to add, as well as the corresponding IP address. Next, click on the Add a Domain link.

PRO TIP: If you are planning on adding a subdomain to your Hostgator account, you should be aware that there are a few potential risks involved. First of all, if you do not properly configure your DNS settings, your subdomain could become inaccessible. Additionally, if you do not set up redirects correctly, visitors to your subdomain could be taken to an incorrect or malicious website. Finally, if you do not secure your subdomain properly, it could be hacked and used to launch attacks against other websites or host malicious content.

On the Add a Domain page, you will be required to enter the following information: the domain name, the domain’s primary DNS server, the domain’s secondary DNS server, and the domain’s email address. You will also be required to provide a name for the new domain, and a website title.

Finally, you will be required to enter the subdomain’s DNS server information.

To add a subdomain to HostGator, simply enter the subdomain’s corresponding information on the Add a Domain page, and then click on the Add Subdomain link. HostGator will then create the corresponding DNS records and email you a confirmation message.
