There are two ways to add DNS records to Squarespace: using the DNS Management tool or using the Advanced DNS Settings tool.

DNS Management:

1. Log in to your Squarespace account and go to the Settings panel.

2. In the Settings panel, click Domains.

3. Click the domain name you want to edit.

4. Under “DNS & Nameservers”, click “Advanced DNS Settings”.

5. Scroll down to “Custom Records”.

6. Click “Add Record”.

7. Select the record type you want to add from the drop-down menu.

  • A Record: An A record maps a domain name (or subdomain) to an IP address and tells your browser where to go when it wants to load your website.
  • AAAA Record (also known as Quad-A Record): An AAAA record maps a domain name (or subdomain) to an IPv6 address and tells your browser where to go when it wants to load your website.
  • CNAME Record: A CNAME record maps a domain name (or subdomain) to another domain name, which tells your browser where to go when it wants to load your website.
  • MX Record: An MX record tells your email provider where to deliver your email.
  • TXT Record: A TXT record allows you to add text notes about your domain, which can be used for verification purposes or other purposes as specified by RFC 1035.
