How do I add MX records to GoDaddy?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 4:11 pm

MX records are used to redirect mail from one MX server to another. GoDaddy provides a MX records service that can be used to redirect mail from your GoDaddy account to another email address. To add an MX record to your GoDaddy account, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your GoDaddy account.

2. Click the Domains tab.

3. Click the name of the domain for which you want to add an MX record.

4. Click the Setup MX Records button.

5. Enter the IP address or hostname of the MX server for your domain.

6. Enter the email address to which mail for your domain should be redirected.

7. Click the Create MX Record button.

8. Click the Save Changes button.

9. Click the Go Live button.

10. Test the redirections by sending a test email to the email address you entered in Step 6.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with DNS record types, we recommend that you contact your DNS provider for assistance before making any changes. Incorrectly editing your DNS records can result in downtime or email delivery issues.
