How Do I Allow Customers to Edit Orders in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 3:40 pm

It’s no secret that WooCommerce is one of the most popular eCommerce platforms on the web. It’s easy to use, and it’s extendable with tons of plugins and themes. One of the most common questions we get asked is how to allow customers to edit orders in WooCommerce.

The answer is actually quite simple: you need to install the WooCommerce Edit Orders plugin. This plugin will let you add, remove, and edit products in an order, as well as change the customer’s shipping address and other details.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, allowing customers to edit orders in WooCommerce can lead to problems. For example, if a customer changes their shipping address and the order is already shipped, you will need to contact the carrier to change the address. Additionally, if a customer changes the items in their order, you will need to update the inventory levels accordingly. Allowing customers to edit orders can also lead to confusion on your part if you are not careful.

Once you’ve installed the plugin, you’ll see a new “Edit Order” link on each order page in your WooCommerce dashboard. Clicking this link will take you to a page where you can make changes to the order.

You can also add a “Edit Order” button to the “Order Received” page, so customers can edit their orders themselves. To do this, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Edit Orders and check the box next to “Add “Edit Order” button to “Order Received” page”.

That’s all there is to it! With the WooCommerce Edit Orders plugin, you can easily allow customers to edit their orders.
