As a photographer, you want your images to look their best. That includes having the proper color balance and brightness on your laptop screen. Fortunately, there are a few easy steps you can take to make sure your screen is calibrated for Photoshop.
First, open up your Display Settings. In Windows, this can be found by going to Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display. On a Mac, open System Preferences and click on Displays.
Next, look for the option that says “Calibrate Color…” or “Color Profile.” This may be under a tab labeled “Advanced” or “Monitor.” Once you find it, click on the button and follow the on-screen instructions.
The calibration process will walk you through adjusting the contrast and brightness of your screen. It will also ask you to choose a color profile. For Photoshop, sRGB is typically the best option.
Once you’ve gone through the calibration process, your screen should be properly configured for Photoshop. If you’re still not happy with the way your images look, there are a few other things you can try.
First, make sure that you’re using the correct color space in Photoshop. To do this, go to Edit > Color Settings and choose sRGB from the drop-down menu.
Next, check the “Advanced Options” box and make sure that “Use Display Profile” is checked. This will ensure that Photoshop is using your newly calibrated color profile.
You can also try adjusting the gamma of your monitor. This can be done in your Display Settings (on a PC) or in System Preferences (on a Mac).
Calibrating your laptop screen for Photoshop is easy and only takes a few minutes. By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your images look their best.
