When you’re ready to move on from a freelancer on UpWork, you’ll need to cancel your contract. Here’s how:

First, go to the Contract menu and select the contract you want to cancel.

Next, click the More Options button and select Cancel Contract.

You’ll be asked to confirm that you want to cancel the contract. Once you confirm, the freelancer will be notified and will no longer have access to your account.

Keep in mind that you’re only able to cancel a contract if there are no pending payments. If there are any payments that need to be made, you’ll need to first issue a payment for those hours before you can cancel the contract.

When cancelling a contract, it’s always a good idea to leave feedback for the freelancer. This feedback will help other clients when they’re considering hiring that freelancer in the future.
